![]() ![]() One of the best ways to savour fine Viennese food is to visit the traditional Heurigen, rustic taverns in the middle of forests - particularly enjoyable in the summer months - where you can try typical specialities and a glass of young wine while listening to live Viennese music. There are excellent dishes prepared with venison, wild boar and roe deer, which are usually accompanied by a delicious red berry sauce. One of the most traditional dishes is the Wiener Schnitzel, which consists of a thin slice of veal coated in breadcrumbs and usually served with a potato salad. The airport is serviced by the A4 road and the journey to the city centres takes approximately 25 minutes. Iberia flies to Vienna-Schwechat International Airport (IATA code: VLC), which is situated 25 kilometres south-east of the city centre. In the winter months, these mild temperatures fall to an average of 0º, though on some days the temperature can be closer to minus 5º. However, this season of the year also sees the most rainfall.
